Running is not just a sport.

findyour-balance:

It is early mornings and peanut butter.
It’s slipping on ice and sweating to death.
It’s feeling like you can’t breathe and wishing your legs would fall off.
It’s sticking it out on the treadmill and pushing through bad runs.
There is no off-season, no one to cheer you on at 5:00 a.m, and no cure for your hunger.
When it comes down to it, running is whatever you want it to be, whatever you need to be, and whatever you have in you.

Repeat after me: I matter. The world would not be the same without me. I am loved. I give love. Because of my existence, love exists. Because of love, I am. It is important that I am here, doing exactly this, right now. I am where I need to be.
Never forget - the center of the universe is in you, just as much as you are in the center of it. I am, because we are. We are, because I am. We are all one.

twice-the-guts-double-the-glory:

Runners are pretty hardcore. I mean we feel like we’re dying nearly every time we run. Passing out is normal. Throwing up after a race isn’t something we raise eyebrows at. We find glory in pain. And yet we still do it. Day after day after day.

I don’t want to be
your entire world, no.
I would be happy
just to be your morning coffee,
your hanging car keys,
your wallet.

Something seemingly
insignificant,
but if lost throws off
your entire day.
